Awardee Katie Nardone, left, receives MIDTEL’s matching scholarship contribution from MIDTEL President, Jim Becker

MIDTEL has announced that Katherine Nardone of Loudonville, NY has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Empire State Chapter ITPA Independent Telephone Pioneer Association’s Scholarship Award of $750. MIDTEL has also matched the ITPA award with an additional $750 for Katie.

Katie is the daughter of MIDTEL employee Rick Nardone. A recent graduate of Shaker High School, Katie will be attending SUNY Binghamton this fall studying Pre-Med.

Annually the Empire State ITPA awards educational scholarships to high school seniors and college students. Students are required to write a brief essay on how they will use their college experience and education to enrich their community, state or country and how they have done so already. Children of Empire State ITPA members are eligible to apply.

This year’s presentations were made at the Annual NYSTA Conference held in Canandaigua, NY earlier in June and Katie was presented her awards at the MIDTEL office on June 22, 2017.

Congratulations to Katie and her family and best of luck this fall!
